About Us
We have been teaching Pilates in Northamptonshire since 1997. Small classes, hands-on tuition with unrivalled teachers. Experienced teachers for those with chronic pain, low back pain, and poor posture right through to professional sports people (well we've been based at the County Cricket since 1999!)
Whatever your level of fitness (or lack of) we have the right class for you. Classes are kept small as we want the whole experience to be tailored to every client's needs. We can ensure our lesson structure addresses each individual within a group class. This is why our clients come back year after year for 21 years!
Memberships and Benefits
PERSONAL TRAINING AT GROUP CLASS PRICES
Whether it’s online or off our classes are kept small to guarantee a better workout
Our classes cost a little more than your usual gym session. This guarantees you loads of teacher attention and personal feedback while still more cheaper than personal training. What we do, gets results. Explore our classes and membership and see if we have a something to suit you.
STILL SELF-ISOLATING OR SHIELDING? DON’T WORRY
Through the power of Zoom you can still enjoy guided, effective workouts. All with our teachers giving you live feedback and personal feedback
Even online, we do all we can to make sure our clients understand each exercise and do them effectively. If you haven’t had much success in online follow-along classes, or don’t always understand the purpose behind certain exercises then enquire about joining ours.
OUR TEAM
AN AMAZING TEAM OF TEACHERS, WITH A WIDE RANGE OF BACKGROUND AND SKILL SETS - but try and get a decent picture out of them!!
We all have a passion for Pilates and helping you move better, with less pain, with more control. Some of us love working with a dodgy back, hips or knees, two of us have special interest in neurological conditions such as MS, Parkinson’s etc.
If you have any special requests or specific needs just ask us, if we can help we will, if we can't we might know someone who does. We will always be honest and upfront with you.
It’s not surprising that anyone with chronic pain is fearful of movement. From back pain to arthritis, from pinched nerves to frozen shoulders. There’s many ways to hurt and it’s hard to know what is good to do and what could potentially make it worse. Read more
But I’d like to prompt your thoughts and beliefs on this subject. We don’t need to love pain but, is it possible to adopt a more positive outlook on chronic pain?
Chronic pain is pain that persists for more than 12 weeks, most people who fall into the chronic pain camp know this. It can cause depression, economic disadvantage both personally and to the country as a whole. Chronic pain costs the NHS quite a lot of money, it can costs our jobs and even our relationships. It’s also very complicated because how you feel pain is entirely different to how another person feels pain.
Experience Pilates WITH A DIFFERENCE
Whether face to face or online, our 24 years of experience, building strong relationships with local health professionals gives our clients the attention to detail they want from an exercise class.

Exclusive online tutorials and workouts
Have you lost confidence in your back? It’s okay, there are safe and effective exercises that will help you rebuild trust in your back. When your back goes into spasm, leaving you immobile for days it’s understandable that you lose confidence in your body. But the longer you spend not moving the slower your recovery could be.
Does your fear of pain keep you doing the things you love? It’s natural to avoid things that cause pain, in fact it’s sensible. But if this fear avoidance keeps you from enjoying your hobbies and from working then you need to overcome those fears to get back in control of your life.
There is hope for back pain sufferers!
Motion truly is lotion; ease back pain with exercise. Our bodies are designed to move every day, we are upright walking creatures. But so often we are sitting for hours on end. To stay healthy we need to keep moving we also need to challenge ourselves a little every day. It should be no surprise, therefore, that recovery from a back injury will require some exercise. In fact, most spinal specialists will use tailored exercise programmes like ours and allow the body to heal itself. The days of more invasive treatments are in the past for many back issues.
Keep back problems from recurring by practising better movement patterns and changing harmful habits. At Northants Pilates we teach people how to exercise to a high standard but we also teach people how to look after themselves outside of class. Better posture, good body awareness and proper core engagement can all help to make your everyday movements more efficient and less tiresome on your body.

NORTHANTS COMMUNITY AID
Northants Pilates is a proud sponsor of Northants Community Aid. A local charity set up by local businesses to raise money for local causes who support the health and well being for the people of Northamptonshire. If you run a local business why not join us? You can also nominate a local charity or cause too. Our is Northamptonshire Carers, a charity we are keen to support as they help anyone in the county who is caring for someone. At the last census over 70,000 people in our county were listed as carers.
Who is considered a carer? According to the NHS this is the defination of a carer.
A carer is anyone, including children and adults who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of their illness, frailty, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction and cannot cope without their support. The care they give is unpaid and can be adult and young carers.
All money raised from our NP Health Webinars go into the pot for NCA and help us raise more money for local causes. If you know anyone who could do with help, get them to apply to the charity for a grant. Our last webinar was all about managing Back Pain, more information here and you can still get access and we raised over £800. Charities they have already supported include Kids Aid, Home Start, Northants Domestic Abuse Service and many more.
